On January 19, a civilian was killed and two others were injured due to shelling by Russian military forces in the Donetsk region.
This was reported by the National Police.
Throughout the day, Russian forces launched over 3,000 strikes on the region. The towns of Konstantinovka, Nikolaevka, Pokrovsk, and Rodinskoye were under enemy fire.
The deceased individual resided in Pokrovsk, which was shelled by the RF army using artillery. Additionally, there is one known injured person in the city. Another individual was wounded in Nikolaevka, where the Russians dropped at least four guided aerial bombs.
As for the material consequences of the attacks, 37 civilian facilities were damaged, most of which were residential buildings. Vehicles and a gas pipeline were also affected.
Since the beginning of the large-scale war in the Donetsk region, Russians have killed nearly 3,000 civilians and injured over 6,300. These are official figures, so the actual number of casualties is higher as it includes data from occupied territories, such as Mariupol, where the number of dead could be ten times higher than currently known, according to investigators.
It is worth noting that last year, the number of civilian casualties from the Russian invasion of Ukraine increased by 30%, as calculated by the UN. One of the reasons for this increase is the active use of long-range weapons by Russian military forces, such as guided aerial bombs and drones.
