In the past 24 hours, civilians were killed by Russians in the Kherson region.

As a result of shelling by Russian military forces on January 26, a civilian was killed in the Kherson region, and another person was injured.

This was reported by the National Police.

The Russian army shelled Kherson, Veletenskoe, Antonovka, Belozerka, Nadezhdovka, Yantarnoe, Pridneprovskoye, Berislav, Milovo, Gavrilovka, Zmievka, and Krasny Mayak over the course of the day.

One of the deceased, a 45-year-old cyclist, died near Veletenskoe due to injuries sustained from a drone attack. The body of a woman, who likely died on January 25, was also found in the settlement.

The injured individual is a resident of Kherson. He sustained mine-blast injuries, a concussion, and a severe head wound due to explosives dropped by Russians from a drone in the Ship district.

In terms of material damage, many apartment buildings, private homes, and vehicles were affected.

It is worth noting that last year, Russian military forces shelled the Ukrainian government-controlled part of the Kherson region at least one and a half times more frequently. As a result, more than 2,100 people were killed or injured.
