Later, activists from “Crimean Solidarity” reported that at 6:25 a.m., FSB officers detained Kurtnezirov and Smedlaev. They were taken to Simferopol for investigative actions.
The sister of Emir Kurtnezirov reported on the search at her brother's house. She stated that law enforcement arrived at their home at 4 a.m., “armed, planted literature, and turned the whole house upside down.”
“A year ago, on March 5, my father was detained — he is currently under house arrest. Today they took my beloved brother, he is our only one. A month ago he got married, a young family, now they have been separated. His wife is left alone. This is lawlessness,” she said.
Subsequently, it became known that Mustafaev was also detained, and he was taken to Simferopol.
“They burst through the door, my husband and I didn’t hear anything. The man was awakened, I woke up from the noise. They read the warrant and began the search. I said that my son has a condition, a diagnosis, and asked them to behave appropriately. In the end, they said that they were taking the man for a long time... The man didn’t sign anything...” – said the wife of the detainee Shefikh Mustafaev.
FSB officers also detained Tajibaev and Ablayev.
The detainees are represented by lawyers Edem Semedlyaev, Emil Kurbedinov, Safie Shabanova, Marlen Khalikov.
Let us recall that a year ago, early in the morning of March 5, 2024, the FSB of the Russian Federation conducted searches in the homes of ten Crimean Tatars in the Bakhchisaray and Dzhankoy districts of Crimea. On the same day, the “court” chose a measure of restraint for four of them – Crimean Tatar activists Memet Lyumanov, Aziz Azizov, Rustem Osmanov, and Mustafa Abduramanov. They were sent to a pre-trial detention center. They will remain under arrest until August 2 of this year.
The court also sent detained residents of Dzhankoy and the Dzhankoy district – Enver Khalilaev, Nariman Ametov, Ali Mamutov, the imam of the Lobanovo village mosque Wahid Mustafaev, and activist Arsen Kashka to a pre-trial detention center.
The former imam Kurtnezirov was placed under house arrest due to multiple health issues. He was diagnosed with hyperintensive disease of the third degree, with repercussions from cerebrovascular disease – a pathology related to the brain. He has suffered three strokes and has diabetes.
All detainees were accused of participating in the banned Islamic party “Hizb ut-Tahrir” in the territory of the Russian Federation. In Ukraine and many countries around the world, it operates freely.
Earlier, ZMINA reported that the wife of Crimean political prisoner Leman Zekeryaev, Zera, spoke about how the occupiers fabricated the criminal case against the second Dzhankoy group of Crimean Muslims.
