The occupiers in temporarily seized Crimea are forcing schoolchildren to produce parts for weapons that are handed over to Russian military units involved in the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Center for National Resistance.
“At school No. 5 in Simferopol, under the careful supervision of military instructors, students are compelled to manufacture parts for Russian weapons – specifically components for drones and devices for rapid charging of Kalashnikov rifles. At the same time, the Russian Occupation Administration does not even conceal this fact, presenting it as a supposed 'volunteer initiative,'” the statement reads.
In reality, this constitutes a gross violation of international humanitarian law by the Russian Federation – the use of children for their military criminal purposes, the CNS emphasizes. The parts made by the students are “officially” handed over to Russian military units participating in the war against Ukraine.
As activists report, in the schools of the occupied peninsula, the occupation administration is actively engaging in militaristic propaganda: children are recruited into movements such as “Yunarmiya,” meetings with Russian military personnel are organized, and a positive attitude towards war is instilled from childhood. This is how the Russian adversaries are shaping a new generation that will fully adhere to Kremlin ideology and be prepared to join the ranks of the occupation army in the future.
“The enemy's recruitment of children for any militaristic activities in the occupied territories of Ukraine is a serious international crime that has no statute of limitations, and all those involved will face severe punishment sooner or later,” the CNS stated.
Let us remind you that Russia has intensified the militarization of Ukrainian children in the occupied territories, as well as those who have been deported, to raise them as Russians and eventually compel them to fight against their own country – this strategy has been elevated to the state level by the Kremlin.
