Russians shelled Zaporizhzhia, resulting in one death and numerous injuries (updated).

As a result of shelling by Russian military forces on the night of January 23 in Zaporizhzhia, one civilian was killed, and at least 46 others sought medical assistance for various injuries.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service, local military administration, and police.

The Russian army struck the city with four missiles and drones.

Consequently, a building at an industrial site caught fire, and the shockwave and debris damaged residential buildings and vehicles. Additionally, one of the missiles hit near the site of a fire that was caused by a drone strike.

Regarding casualties and injuries, there is one confirmed death, with the number of injured rising from 25 overnight to 46. Among the wounded is a child in stable condition and rescuers. The latter sustained injuries while responding to the aftermath of the strike when the Russians shelled the impact site again.

Currently, at least five civilians are in serious condition, while another five are in moderate condition.

It is worth noting that last year, the number of civilian casualties from the Russian invasion of Ukraine increased by 30%, as calculated by the UN. One of the reasons for this increase is the active use of long-range weapons by Russian forces, such as guided aerial bombs and drones.
