As a result of shelling by Russian military forces on the night of December 20, twelve civilians were injured in Kyiv, and one person was killed.
This was reported by the city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, in KGVA and National Police.
The Russian Army likely attacked the capital with Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles. Air defense systems were operational in Kyiv and the surrounding area; however, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet reported the number of targets intercepted.
Debris from enemy projectiles fell in the Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskiy districts. Infrastructure facilities were damaged, including a heating main and residential buildings. A fire broke out in one apartment where a mother and child were present.
Due to damage to infrastructure in the Holosiivskyi district, 630 residential buildings, 16 medical institutions, 17 schools, and 13 kindergartens are currently without heating.

At least five vehicles were also damaged. Footage circulated online showing cars ablaze in the middle of the street in Kyiv.
2Regarding the injured civilians, five out of the twelve were hospitalized.
In the morning, officials reported one confirmed fatality, which was later corroborated by the police. The deceased young man was on the street during the Russian attack.
Meanwhile, the police state that there are not seven injured but only two.
Additionally, in the Kyiv region, warehouses were ignited due to the Russian attack, and firefighters have been battling the blaze for seven hours.
Let us remind you that this year, the number of civilian casualties from the full-scale Russian invasion has increased, primarily due to the Russian Army's use of explosive weapons with a wide radius of impact in Ukrainian populated areas, such as guided aerial bombs.
