As a result of shelling by Russian military forces on the night of January 27, infrastructure facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions sustained damage.

According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian army launched 104 drones overnight, 57 of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defense. Residents in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions heard the air defense in action.
The first explosions in Ivano-Frankivsk region were reported at 2 AM, followed by a series of blasts at 4 and 5 AM. The targets for the Russians in the region were critical infrastructure facilities. There have been no reports of casualties or injuries among civilians so far.
In Sumy region, Russians attacked the regional center and the village of Pyschane. As a result, a non-residential building and infrastructure facilities were damaged, but there have been no reports of casualties or injuries among civilians.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, under enemy strikes, were located Dnipro and settlements in the Samara district. In the regional center, Russians hit a multi-story building, but there has been no information about casualties from there.
Three private houses, an outbuilding, and infrastructure were damaged in the region.
Explosions were also heard in Kyiv and Kyiv region on the night of January 27. However, there have been no reports on the consequences of impacts or the falling debris of Russian munitions.
It is worth noting that Russian military forces have already destroyed most of Ukraine's thermal power and one-third of its hydroelectric generation.
The Office of the Prosecutor General is considering Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities as part of genocide. According to the Commission for Investigating Violations in Ukraine, authorized by the UN Human Rights Council, Russian shelling of energy infrastructure may constitute a crime against humanity. The International Criminal Court has already issued the first arrest warrants for those responsible for the attacks.
