As a result of shelling by Russian military forces on the night of December 3, part of the city of Ternopil was left without electricity, a gymnasium building was damaged in Nikopol, and residential homes and a gas pipeline were affected in the Kyiv region.
This was reported by the National Police and local regional administrations.
During the night, the Russians launched a total of 28 strike drones, of which 22 were intercepted by air defense forces.
In Ternopil, an attack was directed at an energy facility. As a result, part of the city is without electricity; however, energy workers and rescuers are already working to address the aftermath of the attack. Local officials advised residents to charge their phones and stock up on water.
In Nikopol, the Russians damaged a gymnasium, a sanatorium, and residential buildings. The city was initially shelled with Grad multiple rocket launchers, followed by heavy artillery. There have been no reports of civilian casualties or fatalities so far.
In the Kyiv region, damage was recorded to four private homes, a gas pipeline, two vehicles, and a fence in one of the settlements. There is no information on casualties or injuries in the area.
It is worth noting that the Russian military has destroyed the majority of thermal power and one-third of hydroelectric generation in Ukraine.
The Office of the Prosecutor General is considering the Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities as part of genocide. According to the Commission for Investigating Violations in Ukraine, authorized by the UN Human Rights Council, the Russian shelling of energy infrastructure may constitute a crime against humanity. The International Criminal Court has already issued the first arrest warrants for those responsible for the attacks.
