Russian shelling in Kupiansk the day before: the bodies of two women were discovered under the rubble.

As a result of shelling by Russian military forces on January 26 in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, two civilian women lost their lives.

Approximately fifty residential houses were damaged, and a fire broke out in the area of one of them. On the day of the strike, rescuers found an injured 86-year-old woman at the site, who did not require hospitalization.

By the morning of January 27, the bodies of two civilians were discovered under the rubble of one of the houses – women aged 62 and 95. Law enforcement officials did not provide details about the deceased, such as whether they were related.

It is worth noting that last year, UN analysts observed a significant increase in the number of civilian casualties due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. One of the reasons for this is the active use of weapons with a wide range by Russian military forces, such as guided aerial bombs and drones.
