As a result of the assault, four Ukrainian soldiers were taken captive. However, immediately after this, the occupiers shot the prisoners with automatic weapons.
Representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office noted that the intentional killing of prisoners of war is a direct violation of the Geneva Conventions and is considered a serious international crime.
Investigators have initiated a pre-trial investigation under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder).
It is worth reminding that earlier, Russians killed five more fighters in the Pokrovsk direction.
The incident also occurred in November near the village of Petrovka. At that time, during an offensive, five soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to retreat and hide in a private house. When they were found by Russian soldiers, they were forced to leave their shelter unarmed and lie on the ground. Soon after, the fighters were shot.
