The Special Operations Forces of Ukraine captured a group of Russian soldiers, some of whom admitted to executing two Ukrainian prisoners of war.

This was reported by the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine.

The captives were marines from the 40th Arctic Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.

During the interrogation, some of them revealed that they had executed two Ukrainian fighters a few days prior on the orders of their command. According to the Russians, they heard the execution order and attempted to flee from the occupiers, but were killed instead. The individuals implicated in this were identified by their call signs Yar, Lebed, Boom, and Bely.

The first three are now deceased, while the fourth, named Vladimir, is providing testimony to law enforcement. Typically, cases of execution at the front are classified by investigators as violations of the laws and customs of war, associated with intentional murder. Those found guilty face life imprisonment.

It is worth noting that the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) reported a significant increase in cases of executions, torture, and ill-treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war, with at least 62 fatalities involved.
