Another 150 Ukrainian soldiers were returned from captivity – including privates, sergeants, officers, and among those freed was one police officer.

Among those returning home are servicemen from the Navy who were captured in Mariupol and the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as members of the Air Force, troops from the Air Assault and Land Forces, National Guard, border guards, and territorial defense forces, the head of state specified.Some of them had been in captivity for over two years.
“Today is a day that holds more significance for them and their families than years of waiting. It is true happiness to see them home, alive, and free,” – Zelensky wrote.
He expressed gratitude to everyone working towards the return of our people, as well as to Ukraine's partners in this process, particularly the UAE.
Earlier, ZMINA reported that a preliminary prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia took place on January 15, 2025. A total of 25 Ukrainians returned home, including 24 military personnel and one civilian who had been abducted by Russians from the Kyiv region.
