The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, has appointed the commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar," Pavel Palisa. The decision was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He shared this information during an evening video address. According to him, a person who understands the current front and the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is essential for the Office of the President.
"He has a solid understanding of what is happening in the brigades, at the front. I need exactly such a person to have accurate information directly from the front on a daily basis.", the president stated.
He was born into a military family. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Land Forces of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" and the Command and Staff Institute of the National Defense University of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, Palisa was studying at the Command and General Staff College of the U.S. Army, but he interrupted his studies due to the war.
In 2022, he commanded the 5th Separate Assault Regiment. In 2023, he became the commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar." He took part in the battles for Bakhmut.
It is noteworthy that Pavel's brother, Dmytro Palisa "Rubin," is one of the youngest commanders in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, leading the fourth special operations unit of the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade.
Palisa holds two awards: the Cross of Military Merit and the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III degree.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported that Zelensky appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces.
