The former striker of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, Emmanuel Adebayor, has been invited to enter politics.
The ex-player of the Togo national team retired from professional football last year.
This past weekend, Adebayor played his farewell match in Lomé, the capital of Togo.
Yavo Date, president of the Togolese opposition party Comite d'Action Pour Le Renouveau, has called on Emmanuel to join their ranks.

“Now that Emmanuel has finished with sports, he should focus on politics. With him on board, we can continue the political fight for freedom in Togo,” the politician stated.
“In Adebayor, we see an example of perseverance and success. He embodies the ambition and dynamism that the youth of Togo desire from their political leaders.”
