In January 2025, the mobile application "Reserve+" will introduce a new feature: electronic referrals for the military-medical commission (VMC).
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The first step towards these changes was the establishment of a regulatory framework for issuing electronic referrals.
"The modernization of the VMC system is a comprehensive process that includes both the digitalization of procedures and the improvement of the legal framework. Our goal is to create a convenient and transparent system for undergoing military-medical examinations that meets modern standards," said acting State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Nikita Nikitenko.
Ukrainians will be able to independently submit requests for passing the VMC through "Reserve+" and receive electronic referrals. As a result, there will be no need to visit the territorial recruitment center (TRC) for a paper document. It will be sufficient to issue a referral in the application, attend the medical facility, and undergo examination within the legally established timeframe.
Additionally, the conclusions of expert teams assessing an individual's daily functioning, which replaced the medical-social expert commissions (MSEC) as of January 1, will now be taken into account. The updated rules meet modern requirements and current needs, according to the Ministry of Defense.
We remind you that citizens who previously held the status of "limited fit" must undergo a repeat VMC. This obligation applies to all citizens, regardless of whether they underwent medical examination before May 18, 2024.
Law No. 3621-IX, which came into effect on May 4, 2024, abolished the status of "limited fit" and established new criteria for assessing fitness for military service. The document also defined a 9-month period for undergoing a repeat medical commission for those liable for military service affected by this.
Thus, "limited fit" men must pass the VMC by February 5, 2025.
Previously, "Telegraf" reported who among men should be prepared for mobilization in 2025. Citizens without a mobilization deferment will eventually be called up.
