Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 who sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive a range of social benefits and have the opportunity to earn one million hryvnias.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a briefing with the head of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calvino, as reported by UNIAN.

According to him, this will be a "good offer" for those who wish to join the army for a one-year contract.

"A person will be able to earn an additional 1 million hryvnias in one year, and will also have the opportunity to choose a higher education institution without exams after that year and study for free, as the state will cover all expenses. Furthermore, there are special conditions for mortgages – 0% interest, with all interest being covered by the state," Zelensky stated.

He added that authorities are also preparing a number of other important conditions, such as service assignments and brigades, "as this is an experimental contract." The program will be officially presented "tomorrow or the day after tomorrow."

It is worth noting that in December, in response to calls from partners to lower the mobilization age, the president stated that Ukraine should not compensate for the lack of equipment and training with the youth of soldiers. Instead, efforts should focus on supporting the existing brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In January, media reported that in 2024 Ukraine mobilized 200,000 people, yet there remains a shortage of soldiers in the Armed Forces.
