The President of the United States Donald Trump plans to hold talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin soon to expedite the end of the war in Ukraine.
This statement was made during an online address at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 23.

"I would really like to meet with President Putin soon and put an end to this war," the politician stated.
He added that he intends to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, as "millions of lives are being wasted" on the battlefield.
When asked if a peace agreement would be reached within the year, Trump replied: "You'll have to ask Russia. Ukraine is ready to conclude an agreement."
It is worth noting that yesterday, the U.S. President called on Putin to immediately reach a peace agreement with Ukraine. Otherwise, the United States will increase economic pressure on Russia.
Reports also indicated that Trump tasked his special representative, Keith Kellogg, with ending the war in Ukraine within one hundred days.
