The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has chosen a preventive measure for the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleh Druzi, who has accumulated unjustified assets exceeding one million dollars.
This was reported by Suspilne.
According to the judge's decision, Druzi will remain in pre-trial detention for the next 60 days. Alternatively, bail was set at 49 million hryvnias.
During the hearing, the lawyers attempted to argue that Druzi’s detention was unlawful. They also claimed that the suspect had been discharged from the intensive care unit.
One lawyer stated that Druzi was “in extremely serious condition in the ambulance under intravenous drips.” Despite this, the court agreed to the prosecution's request to place the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in custody.
It is worth noting that Druzi is suspected of illegal enrichment of more than 1 million dollars. According to the investigation, from 2022 to 2024, the suspect acquired several real estate properties and luxury vehicles.
It was also reported that today bail was posted for the former commander of the operational-tactical group "Kharkiv," Yurii Halushkin, who, along with two other generals, is suspected of negligence and the failure of the defense of the Kharkiv region in May 2024.
