Российское издание прекращает рекламную кампанию с кадрами войны рф против Украины и изображениями пострадавших украинцев. В частности, Meduza использовала фото Ярослава Базилевича, семья которого погибла в результате российских обстрелов Львова.

The German agency Lure has removed all materials from the advertising campaign of the Russian publication Meduza following a scandal involving the use of images of Ukrainians affected by the war.

This was reported by Ukraine's ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, on Facebook.

As is known, the Russian-language publication "Meduza" launched an advertising campaign abroad, which included footage of explosions in Ukraine and a photo of Yaroslav Bazilevich at the funeral of his family members who died as a result of the Russian attack. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the actions of the Russian publication.

"Well, it seems we have stopped the winter invasion of jellyfish into Europe and Canada. I just received a response from the creative director and founder of Lure regarding my letter from yesterday. The key point in the letter is the statement that Lure has removed all campaign-related materials from the network and instructed partners to immediately cease their display on any platforms. 'Stopping the display of all campaign-related materials' means the campaign is over. Now, dear community, I ask for your assistance: we need to ensure that the campaign is indeed canceled. So please report here if you see any more videos or visual advertisements. I will write to our diplomatic colleagues in other countries where the shadow fleet of jellyfish has also drifted – we will monitor our democratic sea together,” the Ukrainian diplomat's message states.

Makeiev also mentioned that he informed Mr. Yaroslav (whose photo was used in the "Meduza" campaign) about the personal apologies from the German agency.

At the same time, Meduza acknowledged that the video included images of Ukrainians who did not give permission for their use.

"This was a mistake, and we deeply regret it. We apologize to everyone our advertising campaign negatively affected. We never intended to cause harm, especially to those who suffered from Russian aggression, and we are genuinely sorry," the publication stated.

Meanwhile, the Berlin agency Lure also announced on its Instagram page that the campaign has been suspended.

"We sincerely apologize to the people of Ukraine for any pain our campaign may have caused. Our intention was never to exploit suffering; we aimed to express solidarity with Ukraine and support independent journalism that challenges Russian propaganda. We genuinely regret that our approach caused distress, particularly due to the inclusion of Yaroslav Bazilevich," Lure's statement reads.

Recall that earlier, Russian propagandists manipulated Secretary Blinken's statement regarding arms supplies to Ukraine before 2022.

This concerns information from U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the United States had been quietly supplying Ukraine with significant amounts of weapons to ensure its defense capabilities even before the start of the large-scale Russian invasion.
