Сотрудники ГБР обнаружили новые факты по делу о прорыве госграницы и повторно задержали экс-командующего ОТГ Харьков Юрия Галушкина.

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations have uncovered new evidence in the case regarding the border breach in the Kharkiv region and have re-arrested the former commander of the Joint Forces Operation "Kharkiv," Yuri Halushkin.

This was reported by the press service of the SBI.

According to the investigation, Halushkin disregarded the available intelligence and assessed the Russian advance in his defense sector as "unlikely."

As a result, the former commander issued orders that did not align with the actual situation. His actions also contributed to the unauthorized withdrawal of troops from the battlefield by fighters of the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade.

“Due to miscalculations in command and the unauthorized withdrawal from occupied positions by the fighters and certain units of the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, the strategic initiative was lost, allowing the enemy to penetrate the brigade's defense zone by up to 10 kilometers, which enabled them to resume artillery shelling of Kharkiv,” the SBI stated.

Furthermore, due to the military's actions, the Defense Forces lost nearly 100 fighters wounded, killed, or missing in action within the first day.

“He will be notified of the suspicion under part 5 of article 27, article 429 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding in unauthorized withdrawal from the battlefield or refusal to act with weapons),” the report indicated.

It is worth noting that Halushkin, along with General Arthur Gorbenko and Colonel Ilya Lapin, are already suspected of negligence and failure in the defense of the Kharkiv region in May 2024. Law enforcement officials claim that the commanders' actions allowed the occupiers to seize part of the territory of the Lipetska rural territorial community, leading to the loss of personnel and weaponry.

The court has placed the general under house arrest with an alternative of a 5 million hryvnia bail. Additionally, it has become known today that bail has been posted for Halushkin.
