On January 21, Russian propaganda channels released a video showing FSB agents detaining an unnamed resident of Mariupol. The report claimed he is accused of “treason in favor of Ukraine.” Although the detainee's face was blurred, his physique suggests he is either a young man or possibly even a teenager.
This information is reported by Russian propaganda media.
“The detainee began gathering and transmitting information about the locations of Russian forces even before obtaining Russian citizenship. After receiving a Russian passport, he continued to collect information about the personnel of the Russian Armed Forces on behalf of the GUR MO of Ukraine,” the propaganda media stated.
The FSB has initiated criminal proceedings against the Ukrainian under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason) and Article 276 (espionage).
Ludmila Guseynova, an activist and former Kremlin prisoner, wrote on her Facebook page that in the video of the detained Mariupol resident, released by Russian media, about ten strong men can be seen arresting what appears to be almost a child.
In her note, the activist also recalled the forced passportization in territories temporarily occupied by Russia. According to Guseynova, the defiant Ukrainians are still awaiting liberation, resisting the occupiers by any means possible.
“We know how the local population is coerced into obtaining these Russian passports. And we know that this worthless document cannot destroy national identity. My heart aches for this boy, for the thousands of people who are detained almost every week to force them into submission, because I know the terrible path to freedom,” she remarked.
We remind you that Russian security forces detained 58-year-old Asan Buberji in occupied Crimea for allegedly making anti-Russian appeals and publicly supporting Ukraine.
