According to journalists, the financial contributions from EU countries will be proportional to their gross national income. The package will include an extensive list of arms for the Armed Forces of Ukraine – ranging from 1.5 million artillery shells to air defense systems.

It is expected that an official announcement will be made before the symbolic visit of European commissioners to Kyiv on February 24.

Moreover, it is possible that the €6 billion will serve as a "starting point" that could later increase to €10 billion. This is due to EU countries assessing their reserves to determine what else they can send to our state.

"A significant military aid package will be a tangible manifestation of the EU's determination to support Ukraine after the emergency meeting of leaders in Paris on Monday failed to make concrete decisions. The EU was sidelined from negotiations between the U.S. and Russia on ending the war, which caused confusion in the capitals of the EU, as well as in Kyiv," the publication states.

Recall that it was recently reported that France plans to hold another meeting with Western leaders to discuss the war in Ukraine and European security. This will take place on February 19.

Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, stated that Europe would support Ukraine if it does not agree to a deal between the U.S. and Russia. Any agreement made without Ukraine's involvement is doomed to fail.
