Electronic or paper military ID? What do military personnel need for employment?

The employer is required to keep military records of their employees.

In the context of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine, conscripted citizens are required to possess a valid military registration document (MRD) for employment. However, it is crucial to know that the electronic MRD holds the same legal weight as a paper version.

This was reported by lawyer Yuriy Ayvazyan on the "Yuristy.UA" portal. According to current legislation, all enterprises, institutions, and organizations must maintain military records of their employees.

Therefore, when seeking employment, conscripted citizens must present a valid military ticket. According to the lawyer, an electronic document in the "Reserve+" app is sufficient to meet this requirement.

Issues with Accepting Electronic MRDs

Despite the legality of the electronic MRD, some employers still insist on the submission of paper documents. For instance, a man reached out to lawyers, stating that he could not secure a position in the State Emergency Service due to the refusal to recognize his electronic document.

Legal Position

Lawyer Yuriy Ayvazyan emphasized that such employer demands contradict existing norms:

"I see no grounds for this. Your e-MRD has the same legal power as the paper version. Moreover, it contains all the necessary information." — the lawyer explained.

We remind you that when submitting an application to the Registry Office for marriage registration, it is necessary to provide information about military registration. Specifically, this includes details about the place of registration, military rank, as well as the series and number of the military ticket or draft certificate if the person is a conscript.

At the same time, the absence of a military ticket is not a valid reason for refusing marriage registration. Similarly, upon divorce, there is no requirement for a certificate from the TCC and SP. Family law does not mandate the submission of such documents when filing for divorce.

Earlier, "Telegraf" reported on whether it is possible to obtain a deferment from mobilization if one already has a postponement. The situation regarding the cancellation of deferments can be risky.
