The Ukrainian Defense Forces today, in the night of January 14, launched yet another long-range strike on the Russian Federation, which claims to be the most massive and effective one to date. This is evidenced by the number of targeted facilities and the extensive geography involved.
This attack utilized both missiles and various long-range drones. The first target was the "Bryansk Chemical Plant," located 12 km from Bryansk itself. According to Russian sources, this facility specializes in the assembly and packaging of various munitions, including shells for the MLRS "Grad," "Tornado-S," "Smerch," as well as aerial bombs.
The city of Bryansk itself was also targeted, where, as announced by local authorities, "the debris from the missiles" damaged the enterprise "Kremniy El," which has been under attack multiple times, as it is the second-largest producer of electronics for military purposes in Russia. Given the distance from the border of 105-115 km, ATACMS and Storm Shadow cruise missiles could have been used for this attack, although the specific list of employed means is unknown. Russian local authorities report a "combined missile attack."
Later that night, the attack was carried out on targets in the Saratov region. According to available information, there were two targets. The first was the Saratov Oil Refinery, located in the southern part of the city.
The second targeted facility was the “Kristall” oil depot near Engels, which had been successfully attacked a week ago on the left bank of the Volga. This storage facility is part of the state reserve, where fuel for strategic bombers is kept. The Russians had attempted to extinguish the fire for five consecutive days and only reported the fire’s extinguishment yesterday, but now it’s all starting over.
Another target was Kazan. Following the visit of Ukrainian drones, a fire broke out in the area of "Kazan Orgsintez," the only producer of high-strength plastics in Russia and a massive industrial site with a perimeter of 2 by 2 km. The attack targeted a liquid gas storage facility, one of the key components in the production chain of the enterprise, which is the easiest to disable given the limited capabilities of combat drone payloads.
Reports also indicated that Ukrainian drones attacked facilities in Tula and Voronezh, as well as in Rostov, Oryol, and Tambov regions. Overall, the Russians lament that Ukraine launched over 200 drones, which were detected in 12 regions of the Russian Federation.
However, this may not be the end, as reports this morning indicate an attack on an oil pumping station in Tatarstan near the city of Almetyevsk.
