During the international defense exhibition IDEX 2025, held in Abu Dhabi from February 17 to 21, the Russians showcased the air defense system "Pantsir-SMD-E," which is characterized by its stationary design and "distributed configuration" of the system.
This was the first time the Russians presented the "Pantsir-SMD-E," previously unveiled at the propaganda exhibition "Army-2024," and IDEX 2025 marked its inaugural international presentation. This information was reported by the Janes portal.

Regarding the configuration of this complex, it consists of a static combat module with launchers for surface-to-air missiles, while a stationary radar system RLS-0-E is employed for detecting aerial targets, capable of tracking up to four airborne targets simultaneously and linking with four combat modules at once.
All these components are interconnected through fiber optic cables, and it appears that only one operator can manage this system, whose workstation is positioned 500 meters away from all the aforementioned components of the "Pantsir-SMD-E."
Additionally, it is emphasized that apart from its stationary design, notable features of the "Pantsir-SMD-E" include the absence of 30mm automatic anti-aircraft guns and the introduction of compact surface-to-air missiles TKB-1055 for targeting unmanned aerial vehicles.

In one of its publications, Defense Express had previously mentioned the latest Russian complex "Pantsir-SMD-E", so let's briefly revisit some key points.
During the initial presentation of this complex, the Russians openly acknowledged that the 30mm automatic guns were removed due to their low effectiveness against UAVs. It was also noted that the TKB-1055 is designed to intercept aerial targets at ranges up to 7 kilometers and altitudes of up to 5 kilometers.
Earlier, we also discussed that Russia intends to export the successor to the SAM "Strela-10" for combating UAVs.
