Last autumn, it was revealed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were set to receive a new tool to counter the so-called "human waves" of the Russian occupying army, initially mentioning only that the United States would provide unnamed anti-personnel mines.
Later, it became known that the Pentagon, as part of one of the defense aid packages, would supply the Ukrainian Defense Forces with 155-mm artillery shells designed for remote mining using ADAM anti-personnel mines equipped with self-destruction mechanisms. Additionally, we were also to receive the Modular Pack Mine System, or M131 Modular Pack Mine System (MOPMS), as well as the Volcano system.
This month, 155-mm munitions with ADAM anti-personnel mines were spotted for the first time in the arsenal of our military, particularly noted by OSINT specialists as being in the hands of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel.
Specifically, these are 155-mm artillery munitions M692, which are equipped with 36 anti-personnel mines. This lineup also includes the M731 munitions, which are equipped with M67 and M72 mines respectively, differing only in their self-destruction times—four hours versus 48 hours.
If the munitions are used with the American self-propelled artillery system M109, the firing range is approximately 17.6 km. The dispersion distance of the anti-personnel mines can reach up to 600 meters, with an effective radius of lethal impact of up to 7 meters.
Earlier, Defense Express reported that the U.S. is developing a mysterious rocket-bomb ERAM with a range of 463 km for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which may be equipped with Quicksink against ships.
