The President Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution for the approval of the dismissal of Andrii Kostin from the position of Attorney General.
The resolution No. 12153 appeared on the VR website on the morning of October 28.
Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak noted that the Attorney General will be dismissed later this week.
Recall that Andrii Kostin announced that he is resigning following a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), where issues of corruption in the MSEC and instances of abuse within the prosecutor's office were discussed.
Prior to this, it became known that 50 prosecutors from the Khmelnytskyi region likely received a second group disability as decided by the head of the regional MSEC center, Tatyana Krupa. The Office of the Attorney General has begun an investigation into the information.
Media sources have revealed who might lead the Office of the Attorney General after Kostin.
Resignation letters were also submitted by six heads of regional and specialized prosecutor's offices.
