Во Львовской, Ивано-Франковской, Волынской, Закарпатской и Тернопольской областях вынесли около сотни решений не арестовывать военных после оставления воинской части впервые.

The State Bureau of Investigations is assisting in reinstating soldiers who have deserted their military units for the first time.

This was reported by the SBI press service on October 31.

The court has chosen a measure of restraint for soldier Hnezdelov, who publicly announced his desertionThe court has chosen a measure of restraint for Sergeant Sergey Hnezdelov from the 56th OMPB, who publicly declared his unauthorized absence from his military unit.

"Only in October, based on SBI materials, courts in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, Zakarpattia, and Ternopil regions issued about a hundred decisions not to arrest soldiers but to allow them to return to service," the report states.

The SBI noted that recent amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine facilitate this process, allowing courts to make appropriate decisions.

"Each such court decision is preceded by lengthy and meticulous work by SBI employees, who do everything possible to reintegrate soldiers into service," the report continues.

The Bureau reminded that unauthorized absence from a military unit or place of service, without valid reasons, committed under combat conditions, is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years. However, those who find themselves in such a situation for the first time, "have a chance to return to duty without remorse or conflicts with the law."

Recall that in August of this year, the Verkhovna Rada permitted the release of soldiers from liability for first-time desertion and unauthorized absence.

The Office of the Prosecutor General has registered nearly 60,000 criminal cases related to unauthorized absence (desertion) and approximately 30,000 for desertion since the onset of full-scale war.
