On the evening of November 1, the occupying Russian army struck a police deployment point in the center of Kharkiv.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police via Telegram.
According to preliminary information, the attack claimed the life of Colonel of Police Andrey Matviyenko. Additionally, 26 law enforcement officers and four civilians sustained injuries.
It is known that the Russians targeted the site with two missiles, presumably S-300s.
“All relevant services quickly arrived at the scene. Police, rescuers, and medical personnel are providing assistance to the victims and collecting evidence of the occupiers' crime,” the National Police reported.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko, added that among the injured are police officers in critical condition. Medical teams are currently fighting for their lives.
“The enemy will feel the response on the battlefield from all forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including police units that are currently holding the front as part of the Defense Forces,” Klymenko promised.
