Северокорейские солдаты временно отошли от линии фронта в Курской области. Решение было принято в связи с большими потерями среди личного состава.

North Korean soldiers have temporarily withdrawn from the front line in the Kursk region. This decision was made due to significant losses among their personnel.

This information was reported by Sky News, citing a statement from an unnamed commander of a special forces unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

SSO fighters explained how they identify North Korean soldiers in the Kursk regionSSO fighters in the Kursk region are collecting DNA samples from deceased North Korean soldiers to identify them later.

According to reporters, the North Korean contingent may have taken this step to treat the wounded or to await reinforcements.

Furthermore, Ukrainian military officials believe that the command of the North Korean group is "learning lessons from the mistakes" made during the initial confrontations.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also highlighted key aspects of the deployment of North Korean units in the Kursk region:

  • the initial lack of awareness regarding threats from drones and artillery while North Korean soldiers advance on foot, "as if during World War II";

  • "brainwashing," as they continue to push forward despite being under fire from Ukrainian forces;

  • a desire to eliminate evidence of their presence in the combat zone;

  • poor coordination between North Korean and Russian troops due to the language barrier.

It is worth noting that on January 21, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that North Korea has already lost four thousand of its soldiers in battles in the Kursk region. This represents approximately one-third of the entire North Korean contingent.

Media sources have also stated that North Korea intends to send new military units to Russia as reinforcements for the contingent involved in the Kursk region.
