Information is circulating on social media that starting March 1, Ukraine will supposedly be covered by a "dirty cloud," resulting in a sharp decline in air quality. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has not confirmed these claims.

A statement on this matter was made by agency representative Natalia Ptukhа during a telethon.

Only seven countries in the world meet WHO air quality standards – studyBangladesh, Pakistan, India, Tajikistan, and Burkina Faso were listed among the five countries with the most polluted air in 2023. Only seven countries meet WHO standards,

She noted that such information has been appearing quite frequently lately, with Telegram channels referencing model calculations from the Ventusky website.

"But this information has not been confirmed yet, just like the last time. The concept of 'dirty clouds' does not exist at all. We always notify about any pollution and dangers in advance," said Ptukhа.

She also urged citizens to avoid looking at and trusting unverified sources from the internet.

Recall that just a few days ago, a decline in air quality was recorded in Kyiv. The likely reason for the increase in pollution levels is the accumulation of dust, as low-wind conditions do not contribute to the dispersion of impurities.
