In Kyiv, the installation of Ukraine's main New Year tree has begun. The tree will traditionally be set up in St. Sophia Square. The assembly will take 2–3 days.
Footage of the tree's installation has surfaced online. Currently, workers are setting up the frame for the New Year tree.
The height of the tree in Kyiv will reach 15 meters. The country's main tree will be white and adorned with sky-blue garlands. Silver and white ornaments will also be added.
The official opening of Ukraine's main tree is scheduled for December 6, on St. Nicholas Day.
It is worth noting that the Kyiv Defense Council voted for the installation and decoration of the New Year tree in St. Sophia Square. The tree will remain in the square until January 10, 2025.
As in previous years of the full-scale war, the tree will be funded exclusively by patrons without the use of budgetary funds. There are no plans for mass events, fairs, or other entertainment in St. Sophia Square.
