Today, December 1, the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, the EU High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, and the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit.
The head of the European Council announced this via social media platform X.
“From the first day of the war, the EU has stood by Ukraine. From the first day of our mandate, we reaffirm our unwavering support for the people of Ukraine. Proud to be in Kyiv alongside Kaja Kallas and Olivér Várhelyi,” wrote Antonio Costa.
In turn, Kaja Kallas confirmed the visit, noting that the main message of this trip to Kyiv is that the European Union wants Ukraine to win this war.
“We will do everything required to achieve this,” she stated.
Let us remind you that recently the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský visited Kyiv.
Additionally, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met in Seoul with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. The parties discussed countering North Korea and Russia.
