The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the destruction of the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery in Kstovo, Russia, on the night of January 29.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery suspended operations after a repeated attack – MediaThe Ryazan oil refinery cannot continue operations following two attacks in January.“Units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery (Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia) on the night of January 29, 2025,” the message states.
This refinery is reportedly involved in supplying the occupying Russian army. Following the drone strike, a significant fire was recorded at the facility.
The General Staff added that the results and extent of the damage are being clarified.
Earlier, media sources reported that drones from the GUR of the Ministry of Defense attacked the oil depot of Lukoil in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia, during the night.
Additionally, drones attacked several regions in Russia simultaneously.
