Применение TikTok стало недоступным в США за несколько часов до вступления в силу соответствующего запрета.

On the evening of January 18, the social media platform TikTok ceased operations in the United States, specifically – less than two hours before the ban was set to take effect.

This was reported by CNN.

In which countries are Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other popular social networks and platforms bannedWhere Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, and TikTok are completely blocked – see the infographic.

The social network stopped functioning on Saturday evening local time.

“Unfortunately, TikTok is currently unavailable. A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot use TikTok for now,” the app displays to users attempting to access it.

The app has also disappeared from the Apple App Store and shows an error when attempting to download it from Google Play.

Additionally, the message included: “We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated he will work with us to find a solution to restore TikTok as soon as he takes office. Please stay with us.”

As reported, on Friday, January 17, the Supreme Court ruled that the TikTok ban could come into effect over the weekend, rejecting an appeal from the app's owners who argued that the ban violated the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Recall that in April of last year, Biden signed a law compelling TikTok's Chinese parent company – ByteDance – to sell the social media platform. Otherwise, they must cease operations in the U.S.

Media reports indicated that Chinese officials are considering the option of selling TikTok's American division to Elon Musk.

At the same time, TikTok will be the main sponsor of the inaugural party for elected U.S. President Donald Trump, spending $50,000 on it.
