The Russian army has lost approximately 40,000 personnel during the Kursk operation over six months, with more than 16,000 killed.

This operation continues to fulfill this function even after six months, as noted in the statement.
Over six months of active combat in the Kursk region, the total losses of the Russians in manpower amount to about 39,900, with 16,100 killed.
Additionally, as of February 5, Russia has lost the following equipment:
- 131 tanks
- 689 armored fighting vehicles
- 386 artillery systems
- 12 multiple rocket launchers
- 12 air defense systems
- 1 aircraft
- 3 helicopters
- 931 operational-tactical UAVs
- 1164 units of automotive equipment
- 34 units of special equipment
During the operation, Ukrainian forces have also captured 909 Russians.
The total losses of the DPRK contingent amount to about 4,000 personnel. Of the three conditional North Korean brigades, one has been effectively destroyed, and two have lost combat capability.
Recall that, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia has concentrated about 60,000 of its troops in the Kursk region. Many units were transferred from the Kharkiv direction.
In January, the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region.
