Народные депутаты 255 голосами поддержали отставку Андрея Костина с должности генерального прокурора.

The Verkhovna Rada has approved the resignation of Andriy Kostin from the position of Attorney General.

A total of 255 members of parliament voted in favor of the resolution.

It’s worth noting that Andriy Kostin announced he is resigning following a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, where issues of corruption in the Medical-Social Expert Commission (MSEC) and instances of misconduct within the prosecutor's office were discussed.

Prior to this, it became known that 50 prosecutors from the Khmelnytskyi region likely received second-group disability status as determined by the head of the regional MSEC, Tatyana Krupa. The Office of the Attorney General has initiated a verification of this information.

Earlier, media reports suggested that Ruslan Kravchenko, who currently heads the Kyiv Regional State Administration, might be appointed to his position. Later, Ukrainska Pravda reported that the President's Office has yet to finalize a candidate for the new Attorney General. For the time being, the duties will be performed by First Deputy Oleksiy Khomenko.
