The government of Norway has prepared a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million euros.
This was announced by the Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defense, Gennady Kovalenko, during the Kyiv Security Forum.
He mentioned that the package will include F-16 fighter jets and NASAMS air defense systems.
The timeline for delivering the weapons from this package has not been disclosed; however, it is known that the first F-16s from Norway are expected to be delivered to Ukraine by the end of this year.
"The Norwegian side has also expressed readiness to invest in the Ukrainian defense industry, following Denmark's example," the official stated.
It should be noted that it was recently revealed that the Norwegian government plans to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with 109 million euros for the purchase of armaments for the F-16 fighters.
Additionally, it was reported that Norway intends to increase its annual aid to Ukraine to 1.5 billion dollars. This is part of a program extending until 2027.
