Дмитрий Клименков уволен с должности заместителя министра обороны Украины Рустема Умерова.

The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Dmitry Klimenkov from his position as Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

This was announced by the Cabinet representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, via Telegram.

“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has dismissed Dmitry Olegovych Klimenkov from the position of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine,” Melnychuk wrote.

Recall that last week, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced the dismissal of his deputy and a change in the head of the Defense Procurement Agency due to issues related to weapon procurement in his announcement.

He stated that he submitted a proposal to the Cabinet for the dismissal of his deputy, Dmitry Klimenkov, and the Ministry of Defense also decided not to extend the contract with Marina Bezrukova.

In turn, the Defense Procurement Agency reported pressure on its supervisory board from the Ministry of Defense.

On January 25, the Chair of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy in the Verkhovna Rada, Anastasia Radina, stated that the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov should submit a resignation letter. She commented on the scandal between the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Procurement Agency, stating that it “undermines the reform of defense procurement.”
