The Israeli government has decided to close the border crossings with the Gaza Strip and halt the import of humanitarian aid.

This was reported by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Sunday, March 2, Israel blocked the movement of trucks carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip due to Hamas's refusal to accept the U.S. plan for a temporary ceasefire.

Israel will not allow a ceasefire without the release of our hostages. If Hamas insists on its refusal, there will be additional consequences,” the statement said.

Previously, Netanyahu's office accepted a proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump's representative, Steve Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and Passover. This year, Ramadan lasts from February 28 to March 29, and Passover is from April 12 to April 20.

It is worth noting that on February 22, over 600 Palestinian prisoners were supposed to be released as part of the first phase of the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza.

Israel has postponed the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners indefinitely due to violations by Hamas. According to the Prime Minister, Palestinian hostages will not be released until the next release of hostages is guaranteed without humiliating ceremonies.
