The Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksii Chernyshov as the Vice Prime Minister – Minister of National Unity of Ukraine on December 3.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
Thus, the deputies appointed former Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Chernyshov as Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Unity. Chernyshov is also currently leading the company Naftogaz.
“The Rada appointed Oleksii Chernyshov as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of National Unity of Ukraine. FOR – 237,” he wrote.
So far, the Verkhovna Rada has not voted on the establishment of the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine.
Before the voting in the Rada hall, the Rada committee reviewed and recommended Chernyshov's appointment as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.
Recall that Oleksii Chernyshov served as Minister of Community and Territorial Development from 2020 to 2022. He was dismissed from the ministerial position at his own request on November 3, 2022. After that, Chernyshov took the helm of Naftogaz.
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in the Rada that the Ministry of Ukrainian Unity will be established, and a ministerial candidate will be presented by the end of the year. This morning, several media outlets reported that this position will be filled by Chernyshov.
