Senator Marco Rubio, whom Donald Trump intends to appoint as Secretary of State, has expressed his views on how to end Russia's war against Ukraine.
The statement was made during Senate hearings, according to NBC News.
Rubio stated that the war must be ended as soon as possible, and that both countries "will have to make concessions."
"This war needs to be stopped, and I believe that the official policy of the United States should be that we want it to end... It is important for everyone to be realistic. The Russian Federation, as well as the Ukrainians, will have to make concessions," the politician declared.
Rubio also criticized the current U.S. administration for its handling of the war. He claimed that under Joe Biden, the U.S. had no clear strategy for its resolution.
It is worth noting that recent reports indicated that Keith Kellogg, appointed as the future special representative of the U.S. for Ukraine, plans to find a solution to end the war in Ukraine within 100 days.
Media sources also reported that the Trump administration will attempt to convene a conference on the war in Ukraine in the near future.
