North Korean military personnel are still positioned at the front line in the Kursk region. Claims of their withdrawal are incorrect.
This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, in a comment to the portal The War Zone.
"Media reports are inaccurate," Budanov said. According to him, around eight thousand North Koreans are still fighting on the front lines, although their activity has decreased in recent days due to heavy losses.
"We need to wait some time to see if there are any real changes or if this is just a temporary decrease in activity," added the head of the GUR.
Recall that last week, Western media reported that North Korean troops had been withdrawn from the front line in Kursk after suffering significant losses.
Following this, the SSO stated that the presence of North Korean troops has not been observed in certain areas for almost three weeks.
Additionally, the GUR mentioned that Russian command is conducting rotations of North Korean units in the Kursk region due to their losses in combat.
