This Sunday, October 27, Ukraine is set to switch to winter time, and according to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada, it is supposed to remain in this time zone permanently. However, most Ukrainians would prefer to stay on summer time.

Deputy from the "European Solidarity" faction Oleg Syniutka explained on "Kyiv24" that Ukraine should align itself with the countries of the European Union. According to him, most of these countries do not have seasonal clock changes.

In turn, deputy from the "Servant of the People" faction Georgiy Mazurashu stated that the majority of Ukrainians would like to remain on summer time. He refers to the results of a survey he conducted among his constituents.

"I asked my constituents whether they would prefer to remain on winter time as decided by parliament, or to stay on summer time, as many experts advise against transitioning. Economically, this flexible system that is currently in place is even more advantageous, and it exists in many EU countries as well," he noted.

According to Mazurashu, 83% of the participants in his survey indicated that they support the option of staying on summer time. He added that this is contrary to the decision made by the Rada.

It is worth mentioning that discussions about the clock change have intensified again after information emerged that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is not planning to sign the law abolishing seasonal clock changes in the near future. On the other hand, the time for his veto has already passed.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported when it will get dark in Ukraine after the clock changes to winter time. This time varies across different regions.
