Russia launched a ballistic missile at Mykolaiv, resulting in a powerful explosion in the city. Here are the initial details of the incident.

On Wednesday, February 19, an explosion was heard in Mykolaiv. Currently, an air raid alert has been declared in the region.

This information was reported by local social media. The details about the explosions were confirmed by Mykolaiv Mayor Senkevich.

"An explosion was heard. We are clarifying," the mayor wrote.

The air raid alert in Mykolaiv region was announced at 09:22. Just at that moment, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a fast-moving target heading towards Mykolaiv.

The air raid alert was lifted in Mykolaiv region at 09:30.
