Today, "Telegraph" will share the story of this symbol, which has become a true talisman for defenders and a sign of the approaching Ukrainian victory.

The chevron has a shape resembling a shield. Its dark gray color is a symbol of mountain infantry, as well as a symbol of Transcarpathia — the Black Mountain.

The main element of the insignia is the silver Kostil (also known as the Antoniev Cross or Tau Cross) – a symbol of life and sacrifice. The Antoniev Cross can also be interpreted as the initial letter "T" in the word "Transcarpathia".

The silver edelweiss flower, stylized to resemble the sun, has ten rays. The rays symbolize the ten ethnic groups of Transcarpathia, whose representatives serve in the brigade, while the six black dots in the center stand for the six virtues of a mountain stormtrooper: loyalty, honor, honesty, courage, duty, and selflessness.
