The prolonged suspension of booking for critical business personnel will soon lead to a deterioration in the funding of the Defense Forces and a halt in volunteer support for the Defense Forces, as well as a decrease in the country's budget revenues. This was stated by national security expert Valeriy Potseluyko, who served as an advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs from 2014 to 2021, while commenting on the government's decision to suspend the booking procedure until November 15, 2024.
"Support for the army today largely relies on taxes and the financial capabilities of businesses. The army and business are mutually dependent. Enterprises are considering halting operations due to the unpredictability surrounding booking. There are already signals from military units regarding the risk of reducing direct assistance from businesses," noted Valeriy Potseluyko.
"Thus, the prolonged blockage of bookings could strike at the rear of Ukraine's defense capability and national security. Therefore, it is critically important to find a balanced solution, and in the meantime, to automatically continue the booking process," the expert concluded.
